How Are TPO Roofing Systems Installed?

The installation process for TPO roofing systems is straightforward.

We start by cleaning and prepping the substrate to make sure the membrane bonds properly. If extra insulation is needed, we install rigid boards over the deck before the membrane goes down.

Next, we roll out the TPO sheets and either mechanically fasten them or fully adhere them to the substrate, depending on your roof’s setup and wind exposure. The reinforced scrim built into the membrane gives it the strength to withstand foot traffic and weather.

Then comes the part that makes TPO so reliable:

We weld the seams together with hot-air equipment, creating a molecularly bonded, watertight seam that’s actually stronger than the roof membrane itself.

The final step is to flash all penetrations, edges, and HVAC units to seal the spots most likely to leak.

I can't say enough good about the entire L&L team.  They put a high quality roof on our flat roof office building about 6 years ago and when they came for the yearly inspection they found severe hail damage from a storm.  It was a complicated process mainly due to the insurance adjuster,  but Josh greatly assisted me in speaking with the adjuster many times advocating for the full and complete replacement to be paid for, and he helped me to understand all involved with multiple aspects of the job. Wendell helped to coordinate the various steps in the installation of the flat roof,  shingles portion, portico and gutters, and was very helpful asking where the vehicles,  dumpsters, trailers and tools could be placed at a busy office building prior to the arrival. The men worked hard in extreme heat and even some in hard rain. They left the job site impeccably clean each night. They literally were running to keep a steady pace of their hard work. There was one issue and Wendell was there within 40 minutes of my call working to resolve the situation, and it was fully resolved.

They should give seminars on how work should be completed from step 1-100. I could not be more pleased with the L& L Roofing team.

L&L came out promptly and sealed all potential leak spots. We have had several extreme rainstorms since their repair, and the leak is fixed! Thanks a bunch!
